I am a northern Irish writer and editor living in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I have written two books: Foreign Fruit: A Personal History of the Orange (Canongate, 2025) which won Scotland's 2025 National Book Award for Debut Non-Fiction and The End: Surviving the World Through Imagined Disasters (404 Ink, 2021) which was shortlisted for the inaugrual Kavya Prize.

I write features and profiles for publications including the Guardian, Prospect, the Independent, Vice, Dazed, Huck and more. I also write essays, which have been published in magazines including Port, Extra Teeth and Gutter and which have been twice shortlisted for the Anne Brown Essay Prize.

I am non-fiction editor for Extra Teeth magazine and deliver writing workshops and mentoring.

I also make radio for Edinburgh’s community radio station EHFM.
